So I was in the Goodwill last thursday  and I decided to try digging through the art to see what I could find.  I found a nice drawing done in pencil of a child hanging by his clothes on a clothes-line. It is titled “Hang in There!” and signed Michael Hayes 1987.   So I got home and I took the frame apart to see if it was real or a print and sure enough it was an original. So I started looking for a famous Michael Hayes artist online.   I found one who lives in Barbados and grew up in California.   I found a gallery that shows some of his paintings at times and I emailed the curator. He asked me to send him the artist’s signature to compare.  However, I did not get the email right away.   My fiance intercepted it and started reading my email! She told me I got an email about “Michael Hayes” and when I asked her why she had read my email she said it was because her last boyfriend’s name was Michael Hayes. How funny is that! I told her he was trying to tell me to “Hang in There!”.   Just two more months until the wedding.
